Bill & Ted's Riff in Time: Which Wyld Stallyn are You?

Are you ready to play an excellent boardgame and conquer time itself? Well, Bill & Ted's Riff in Time requires speed and teamwork, if you're up for the challenge: choose your character and take on San Dimas!

You've the choice of Bill, Ted, Joanna or Elizabeth.

Before jumping into the benefits each Wyld Stallyn has on the board, let's recap quickly on the aim of this bodacious tabletop game. If you're interested in finding out more about what's in the core box and would like more details on the rules, head to the official website - it's all there.

The aim of this excellent board game:

To keep this nice and brief, the aim of the game is to work together, moving around the board, collecting Personages of Historical Significance, and returning them back to their correct place in time. All before the rifts at each location (and time itself) fractures beyond repair.

As this is a cooperative game, after collecting a Personage of Historical Significance; players need to work together to return them to their correct points in time, before being able to close the rift there. As the game progresses, time cracks a little more –with dire consequences!

Which Personage of Historical Significance will you find as you make your way around the board? As you visit each of the destinations, you'll have the opportunity to pick up famous faces from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Including Socrates, Billy the Kid, Genghis Khan, Napoleon and more.

Just like the player characters, each of these characters also has a unique effect - some are just, BOGUS! You'll find more information about the rules on the website, including a free downloadable PDF, which you can download in English, French, German, Spanish or Polish, at the bottom of the how-to-play page.

Now, on to the main characters: Bill, Ted, Joanna and Elizabeth.

How to choose a Wyld Stallyn:

There are a few ways you can choose who to play on the board: pick your favourite colour, go with your favourite actor from the film franchise (whether it be Keanu reeves, Alex Winter, Diane Franklin or Kimberley Kates), or choose based on the unique ability a character has in the game.

Each character's unique ability plays an essential role in returning Personages of Historical Significance quickly to the correct location, and if played at the right moment; changing the result of the game.

The good news is, as you and the other players will all be working together, each unique ability will come into play at some point. So, what are they?

Bill S. Preston Esq.

Once per turn, when performing a move action, this player may move one extra space along the Circuits of History.

Ted Theodore Logan

Once per turn, after rolling their dice this player may change the result of their dice that is not showing bogus.

Elizabeth Logan

Once per turn, when performing a Fix Rift action, this player may reduce the rift by one extra level.

Joanna Preston

Once per turn, after revealing a Rift Card, this player may decide not to encounter it and place it on the bottom of the draw pile. They must then draw another Riff Card and encounter that one instead.

And finally…

With the Rufus' Remix expansion, you can choose Rufus as a playable character (and make your games a 5-player game).

Rufus

Once per turn, redirect one Bogus Die result to another player's location.
